The Saudi event management platform, founded in 2024 by Abdulrahman Alabdulkarim, will use the money to grow its team and customers across Saudi Arabia and the GCC.
Three confirmed moves this week, and they sit at very different ends of the market: a sovereign fund taking title to hotel real estate, a national AI company adding compute, and a pre-seed cheque. I've kept to what the releases and reports say, and where a number wasn't given I've left it out.
Danantara takes title in Thakher Makkah
On 19 October, Thakher Development announced it had handed over the property ownership certificates for the Novotel Thakher Makkah and 14 adjoining development plots to Danantara Indonesia, the country's sovereign wealth fund. The price was SAR 2 billion, about US$533 million.
The hotel has three 19-storey towers with 1,461 rooms and suites, and Accor will keep operating it under its existing management agreement. The 14 plots total 44,088 sqm. Danantara plans to build hotels with about 6,000 additional rooms and a shopping mall with more than 90 retail outlets, and says it will invest more than SAR 2 billion in the project. Thakher Makkah as a whole covers 320,000 sqm, 1.2 km north of the Grand Mosque.
Indonesia has the largest Hajj quota of any country, with 203,320 regular places in 2026, so the logic is easy to follow. The release says the transaction took ten months from signature to title, and it follows the Law of Real Estate Ownership by Non-Saudis, which took effect in January 2026. That is a clean example of a new rule turning into a closed deal.
Humain and Nvidia
Humain, the Public Investment Fund company, announced at Nvidia's GTC event in Berlin on 22 October that it is expanding its Nvidia partnership to up to 84MW of AI computing, roughly 27,000 GPUs across two phases. Phase one is 14MW of Blackwell HGX B300 systems from Q4 2026. Phase two is 70MW of Vera Rubin infrastructure from mid-2027, with 50MW for an unnamed US customer and 20MW for Humain Cloud, subject to final agreements. No dollar figures were disclosed.
INVE's pre-seed
INVE, a Saudi event management platform founded in 2024, raised $300,000 from Outliers VC, its first paid business design partner. The platform handles invitations, RSVPs and digital entry passes, and its business product launched in August 2026. The money goes to team, brand and customer acquisition, with a longer-term aim of North Africa and Europe.
What I'd watch next
Whether Danantara names its development partners for the 14 plots, how quickly Humain signs the final agreements for phase two, and what INVE's first business customers look like.
